Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church has called on President ola Tinubu to desist from raising taxes on Nigerians and come up with ways to put an end to the economic hardship the country is facing.
Primate Ayodele who spoke on Friday said it is inappropriate to raise the Value Added Tax (VAT), stamp duty and cybersecurity levy at a time when Nigeria is still experiencing severe economic hardship that has left common people impoverished.
The cleric, however, urged the Federal Government to evaluate its policies and make them more people-friendly because there is so much hardship in the nation and the government should be focused on making sure that Nigerians have better days.

He said: ‘’Increasing VAT, stamp duty, implementing cybersecurity levy at this time is not proper.Nigeria may not understand all of these and the government in power may not even understand too but the fact remains that the government must review their policies very well.
‘’These policies will only lead to more hardship for the people, the prices of food commodities will skyrocket and even the salary increase will still lead to more hardship if these policies continue.’’
