CSOs Kick Against Mele Kyari’s Sacking As NNPCL Boss

A coalition of civil society organisations has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to ignore the calls for the sacking of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari.

The Director-General of Global Centre for Conscious Living Against Corruption Gabriel Nwambu, who made the call on behalf of the coalition in Abuja yesterday, said relieving Kyari of his appointment would affect the reforms in the oil sector.

Nwambu said Kyari had not only introduced reforms to the sector but also strengthened strategic partnerships with both local and international stakeholders.

He said: “This collaborative approach has fostered growth and innovation, positioning the NNPCL as a premier energy company in Africa and earning widespread respect within the global oil and gas industry.
