Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna State High Court has convicted and sentenced two internet fraudsters, Nathaniel David Akogun and Samuel Oduma, to prison for impersonation and intention to defraud.
Akogun, 25, was found guilty of impersonating T.D Jake official on Facebook, posing as a foreigner interested in online dating to unsuspecting members of the public.
He was sentenced to one-year imprisonment and given an option of a fine of N350,000.

He also forfeited his iPhone 7 Plus and Huawei P30 Lite to the federal government.
Also, Oduma, 28, was convicted of impersonating Loius Tomlinson on Instagram, presenting himself as a celebrity with the intent to defraud unsuspecting persons.
He was sentenced to three years imprisonment with an option of N400,000 fine. He also forfeited his iPhone 11 Pro to the federal government.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) prosecuted the duo on separate one-count charges bordering on internet fraud, impersonation, and intention to defraud.
The prosecution counsel, M.U Gadaka, urged the court to convict and sentence the defendants accordingly, following their guilty pleas.
Delivering his judgement, Justice Khobo, convicted and sentenced the defendants, ordering them to forfeit their mobile phones to the federal government.
The EFCC has secured several convictions of internet fraudsters in recent months, as part of its efforts to combat cybercrime in Nigeria.
