COSEYL Tasks New Abia CP On Improved Security

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEY) has welcomed the new Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, with the demand to rejig the security apparatus for effective policing that would deal decisive blow on the resurging criminality in the State.

The apex sociopolitical youth group in the South East geopolitical zone said it has not doubt that the new Police Commissioner would perform given his antecedents and experience in policing.

“We are very confident that he will bring his wealth of experience to bear in dealing with all kinds of security threats in the state,” President General of COSEYL, Comrade Goodluck Ibem said in a statement.

According to Ibem, “We are encouraged and pleased with the remarks and address of the new CP, but we want to see him march his words with action because the security situation in the state currently needs to be rejigged in other to bring lasting solution to the security challenges in the state.

“Before now, Abia State used to be one of the safest states but all of a sudden things changed drastically in a very bad way that criminal elements rod, kill and commit all sorts of crime against the citizens of the state.

“We urge the new CP to restore the Abia State police force back on her feet and send all criminal elements out of the state.”

COSEYL urged the CP to work assiduously to ensure that the attack on security formations in the state is brought to an end while those found culpable made to face the music.

The group also advised the new CP to use the best personnel who before now have proved their mettle to secure, police and restore the state back to her former glory.

While appreciating the IGP, Kayode Egbetokun for deploying CP Isa to Abia at a time his professional experience was greatly needed, the youth group called on stakeholders and the general public to support and give the new CP all the necessary and needed support in this new assignment.
