The head coach of Ghanaian women’s Division One B side, Tiyumba Ladies FC identified as Iddrisu Suweidu had allegedly beaten a female referee known as Mohammed Sakina Nasara to a stupor.
New Telegraph reports that Suweidu reportedly attacked the referee during his side’s home match against Soccer Missionaries Ladies FC in Tamale.
It was further gathered that he invaded the pitch and launched a brutal assault on the centre referee after she awarded an indirect free-kick against his team who were leading 1-0.
Ghana Web reported that the referee sustained various degrees of injuries from the attack and was eventually rushed to Tamale Technical University Hospital for medical attention.
The report said the police have already launched a manhunt for coach Suweidu who is now at large.
