In Sunday’s Championship playoff final, Southampton defeated Leeds United 1-0 to secure their promotion to the Premier League.
Sunday Telegraph reports that the game-winning goal came via Adam Armstrong’s crisp finish in the first half.
The Saints, who were relegated the previous season, are making an instant return to the English premier league.
Along with Ipswich Town and Leicester City, they are the third team that will advance.
