The North West chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has heavily criticized President Bola Tinubu’s recent appointments to the North-West Development Commission (NWDC) Board of Directors, citing the “absence of Christian” representation.
Saturday Telegraph recalls that the President had submitted the names of seven Governing Board members of the North West Development Commission to the Senate for confirmation, which consists of Northern.

However, in a statement issued in Kaduna on Saturday, The CAN Chairman for the North West, Sunday Oibe, conveyed disappointment and concern over the uneven appointments.
“We are deeply concerned about President Tinubu’s recent appointments to the board of directors of the North West Development Commission.
“Unfortunately, these appointments do not reflect the diversity of the region, as no Christians from the seven states were selected to the board of the Commission,” Oibe said.
