Former President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his grief following the tragic death of 40 members of the Tijjaniyya Movement in an automobile accident in Kaduna State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his media aide, Garba Shehu, Buhari sent his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
New Telegraph had earlier reported that the worshippers were en route to Saminaka for Eid-el-Maulud celebrations when their bus collided with a truck near Lere.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, September 15 claimed the lives of 40 passengers while leaving many others injured, with the victims currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
It was gathered that the group was traveling from Kwandari in Plateau State to attend the Maulud event, marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad.
Reacting to the tragic incident, Buhari said, “I am pained by the loss of many lives due to the road accident involving participants in the Maulud celebrations in Kaduna.
My thoughts are with the bereaved families, and I pray that the injured recover soon.”
