BUA, NDLEA Wage War Against Drug Abuse Among Truck Drivers

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Sokoto State Command in collaboration with BUA Cement Company are waging a war against illicit drug abuse by sensitising the company’s truck drivers on the dangers of taking illicit drugs.

The Commandant of the agency in the State, Mr. Ibrahim Iro, led a team of the agency’s personnel to flag off the campaign at the BUA cement company in the Kalanbaina area of Sokoto yesterday. Iro said BUA is a worthy partner with NDLEA.

He said: “This training is part of the BUA desire to ensure their drivers are drug-free, knowing fully well that a driver who is a drug user is a danger to himself and as well as the general public.

“We have been partnering with the BUA Sokoto State and they are bringing their drivers for free drug tests and it was in the light of the fact that they discovered that their drivers were into drugs they decided to organise this training.”
