Boy, 12, allegedly beaten to death for refusing to join cult

A 12 year-old boy, simply identified as Oromoni has allegedly been beaten to death by his colleagues in school for refusing to join a cult group at Lekki area of Lagos State. It was learnt that the incident occurred on Friday, that the decease who was in secondary school declined to join the group, so he was beaten up and later died on Tuesday.

According to a cousin of the deceased on Twitter, with a name @ Perrisonoromoni, “his cousin was the victim of the bully, but died following the brutal attack. “The deceased died following the brutal attack at the school located in Lekki, but before he died he was able to name five of the students who attacked him and series of test were conducted on him. “My 12-year old cousin was beaten to death at the school that cost over 1 million naira. Whoever that wants to kill me should come now, because my cousin is not going to die like that.

He died after tests and X-rays, confirmed he was beaten badly. He died Tuesday morning, and his entire body was said to have swollen.” It was at the hospital the deceased reportedly told his parents that the school’s cult members threatened to kill him if he reported them to the authority or his parents, saying, “they were going to kill him if he talked.” When contacted the Lagos State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, promised to get back to our correspondent.
