The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board has announced the suspension of several Senior Officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) following their alleged involvement in misconduct relating to the controversial case of Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.
The suspended officers include Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), in charge of the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kiri-kiri, Lagos State, and Sikiru Adekunle, DCC of the Maximum-Security Custodial Centre (MSCC) in Kiri-kiri, Lagos.

Additionally, ASC II Ogbule Samuel Obinna, stationed at the MSCC in Afikpo, Ebonyi State, has also been suspended for allegedly escorting a convicted inmate outside of the facility.
In a separate incident, Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, another DCC in charge of the MSCC in Kuje, Abuja, was also suspended for reportedly receiving bribes on behalf of an inmate.
These suspensions are part of an ongoing investigation, and the Board has assured the public that the results of the inquiry will be made available once completed.
