Following the ongoing war in Gaza, the President of the United States (US), Joe Biden has promised to defend Israel.

This was as President Biden warned that Iran would not be allowed to succeed against Israel.

Addressing journalists in the wake of the threat on Friday, Biden warned Iran against attacking Israel.

He said, “We are devoted to the defence of Israel. We will support Israel. We will help defend Israel and Iran will not succeed.”

He added that he wouldn’t be able to reveal secure information, adding that his expectation was that an attack could come “sooner, rather than later.”

A US intelligence report says Iran is planning to attack Israel in the next 24 to 48 hours.

According to the Wall Street Journal, WSJ, no final decision has been taken on the planned attack which is being discussed by Iran’s top leadership.

WSJ said Israel is preparing for an attack on either the southern or northern part.

“The strike plans are in front of the Supreme Leader and he is still weighing the political risk,” WSJ quoted an adviser to Iran’s Supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei as saying.
