Biafra: UK Court Granted Nnamdi Kanu Appeal Over Judgement

The leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has been reportedly granted permission to appeal his case through the United Kingdom Appeal Court.

New Telegraph gathered that the court is booked to hear Kanu’s extraordinary rendition appeal on June 22, 2023.

It would be recalled that the court had initially ruled that the ground for appeal raised important issues.

Aloy Ejimakor, Kanu’s special counsel, made the scheduled date for the ruling in a chat with Newsmen

According to Ejimakor: “In an initial order, the court ruled that the grounds of appeal raise important issues. The appeal will be heard on June 22, 2023. Kudos to Kanu’s family and my colleagues, the Bindmans.”

The IPOB leader was nabbed in Kenya in June 2022 over his agitation for Biafra and arraigned in court to continue his trial.

Despite the courts discharging and acquitting him, the Nigerian government has refused to release Kanu.
