Benin Airport Shooting: Group Decries Police Inability To Arrest Perpetrators

The Network of Civil Society Organisations of Nigeria (NOCSON) yesterday criticised the police for not arresting the perpetrators of the shooting along Airport Road in Benin City that led to the death of Inspector Onu Akor.

The group said there were videos on social media that showed faces of people with guns but have not been arrested. President Emmanuel Ogbidi expressed his resentment at a press conference in Benin City.

He said: “This delay by the Nigeria Police to take very crucial decisions has cast a shadow of doubt on the capacity and professionalism of the Edo State command to handle issues in the coming days as we approach the gubernatorial election.
