Phyna, the Big Brother Naija season seven winner, is at the receiving end of heated criticism for making harsh comments about Chichi, a fellow housemate. During a heated argument in a recently aired episode of the reunion show, Phyna accused Chichi of abandoning her husband and children.
She claimed this led to the death of one of Chichi’s children. Phyna also alleged that Chichi was exploiting the loss of her parents as a strategy to gain sympathy and win the show. These remarks have sparked outrage among viewers, who took to social media to condemn the claims.
In response to the backlash, Phyna took to social media to defend herself and shed light on her own experiences during the show. She said BBNaija organisers selectively edited the episodes to omit instances of derogatory treatment she had endured.
Phyna also attributed her remarks to the provocation she had faced. “They took off where I was body shamed, called saggy breasts and shapeless. They took away where I was called wombless and abortionist,” the reality TV star wrote.
“They took away where I was called a junky drug addict that deals on crack. They took away where I was wished death. “They took away where I was called a man snatcher, day 1 and jumped to day 2 for my own clap back…. God of Phyna, where are you?”
Despite Phyna’s attempt to provide context for her behaviour, social media users continued to express their displeasure.
