BBC presenter Lauren Laverne has announced on Instagram that she has been diagnosed with cancer.
The diagnosis was made unexpectedly during a routine screening, but Laverne is reported to be “expected to make a full recovery.”
In her post, Laverne expressed gratitude to the medical teams, her colleagues, family, and friends for their support.

- She also encouraged others to not delay medical appointments, stressing the importance of early detection.
“Half of us will get cancer at some point and finding out ASAP is everything,” she wrote.
Laverne, known for hosting BBC Radio 6 Music’s breakfast show and BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, has received an outpouring of support from colleagues and fans, including BBC presenters Gabby Logan and Clara Amfo, comedian Sarah Millican, and McFly’s Harry Judd.
