The Senate Committee on Public Accounts yesterday berated the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) for their refusal to respond to audit queries.
The Upper Chamber Assembly also attacked the police and 12 other agencies for their persistent refusal to respond to the queries raised against them in the 2019 audit report.
The committee Chairman Ahmed Wadada (SDP Nasarawa West) while addressing journalists on the matter, said since heads of the affected agencies refused to respond to queries raised against them in the 2019 audit report after several letters to them, going forward, any agency that refused to honour invitation to defend its queries would have its queries sustained and reported to the Senate Plenary by the Committee.
