At Cashbox, we provide opportunities to Nigerians, says CEO Sydney Imuetinyan Aigbogun

The CEO of Cashbox online saving platform, Sydney Imuetinyan Aigbogun, has revealed many opportunities that can be derived by Nigerians who use Cashbox.

Cashbox, which came into existence in 2019, is an online saving app, which users can easily download on android and iOS, linked it to their ATM cards with which a savings plan is created for a specific amount to be saved at a determined frequency.  This is a secured savings platform that helps users save money seamlessly all from the comfort of their mobile phones, tablets or computers.

According to Aigbogun, Cashbox is different from other similar online services because it is not only a saving app, but it also helps clients take some financial decisions.

“We are not just focused on getting people to use our app, instead we are focused on our customers. We are helping them make smarter financial decisions. We are also big on research and development; we are constantly coming up with features and ways to make financial transactions easier for everyone,” said Aigbogun.

Born on October 4. 1986 in Benin City, Aigbogun, who hails from Edo State, posseses a degree in Finance from the University of Lagos. He had worked at various times in consumer finance, asset management and foreign exchange trades sectors of the Nigerian economy.

Sydney Imuetinyan Aigbogun said Cashbox, having entrenched its presence in the Nigerian financial business environment, it has come to stay as Nigerians are finding it easy to now save their money online.

“We have clients all over Nigeria. As long as you have a smart phone and internet, you can save with Cashbox from anywhere in Nigeria and be rest assured that your money is saved with us.

“People were initially scared of CashBox, especially our first six months in operation, but right now that’s no longer a worry for us. Our presence online is very visible and they see so many reviews from users saving with us, seeing these reviews gives new customers confidence in us and it makes us happy that we are doing the right,” added Aigbogun.

For the CEO of Cashbox, his background in finance has been helping to sustain and push the business forward.

“My background aided my decision to set up Cashbox because it helped me overcame initial challenges encountered in this business. I have a background in finance and have always been looking for ways to make financial process smoother and one interesting thing is that Cashbox is an everyday and everybody app. It is easily used by young people as well as the old,” he said.

He believes Cashbox would continue to grow in the space where it exists, as there are many grounds to be covered in the Nigerian retail banking, especially the online banking.

“In the next 10 years, I see Cashbox being a pan African company located in different parts of Africa and beyond, we should also be listed in the stock exchange by then. In 10 years, I should have stepped down as the CEO while someone else appointed by the board takes charge,” added Aigbogun.
