Asake Speaks On Wizkid Featuring In His New Song, MMS – Asake

Famous Nigerian singer, Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake, has revealed that his colleague, Wizkid was the one who reached out to him to be featured in his new song, ‘MMS.

Asake made this known during a recent interactive session with fans on Instagram.

According to the “Lonely At The Top” crooner, he had someone else in mind but the producer, P. Prime played the song for Wizkid and he asked to be featured in it.

He said: “I didn’t know I was going to put Wizkid on that song to be honest. I had someone else in mind for that song, but I think P.prime played the song to wiz, and wiz said “I f*ck with this song, I want to jump on it’.”

Sunday Telegraph reports that ‘MMS’ was released on Friday off Asake’s third studio album ‘Lungu Boy’.

The song broke the record for the biggest first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria with 870,000 streams.

The record was previously held by ‘IDK’ by Wizkid featuring Zlatan Ibile (626,000 streams).

Meanwhile, Asake’s ‘Lungu Boy’ has broken the record for the biggest first-day streams for an African album on Spotify.

The album garnered 9.42 million streams on the Global Spotify Chart on its first day.
