Following the claims made by the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) that the its operatives did not use live ammunition on #EndBadGovernance protesters, the Nigerian Army on Wednesday confirmed that one of its soldiers killed a teenager in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The Nigerian Army who disclosed this in Abuja said the 16-year-old, Ismail Mohammed was killed during the protest, which initially started peacefully but eventually escalated into violence across various regions.
The Amnesty International, however, condemned the use of lethal force against protesters, stating that security personnel deliberately employed tactics designed to kill.

Also speaking on the incident, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero also criticized the police, urging them to divert their energies on combating bandits rather than suppressing peaceful protesters.
Earlier, Muyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesperson, had acknowledged some instances of killings but denied police involvement.
However, the Nigerian Army admitted that a soldier fired a warning shot in Zaria, which led to the death of a 16-year-old boy, Ismail Mohammed.
The soldier involved has been arrested and is under investigation.In a recent development, the Nigerian Army has reportedly compensated the family of deceased 16-year-old, Ismail, a 16-year-old protester killed in Kaduna, with a sum of N300,000.
The Compensation by the Nigerian Army has since set the internet abuzz and generated mixed reactions from Netizens.
