There was great anxiety within the ruling political class in Delta State yesterday as the whereabouts of former Commissioner for Technical Education Commissioner for Technical Education Joan Onyemaechi aka Ada Anioma, remained unknown.

Gunmen reportedly abducted Onyemaechi on Tuesday at her church in Asaba and whisked her away with a flying boat through the River Niger. Ever since, her abductors have yet to establish contact with her family, friends and political associates.

The police have also kept sealed lips on the incident. All the telephone calls, texts (SMS), and WhatsApp messages sent to spokesman SP Bright Edafe had yet to receive attention as of the time of filing this report.

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and his immediate predecessor Ifeanyi Okowa are said to be greatly worried over Onyemaechi’s abduction.
