British national, Andrew Wynne accused by the Nigerian Police of attempting to overthrow the government, denied any wrongdoing and asserted that he is not a fugitive.
Wynne, who has been visiting Nigeria for 25 years and owns a bookshop in Abuja, expressed his willingness to cooperate with Nigerian authorities and clear his name.
Wynne refuted claims that he is evading the law, stating, “I am not aware that I am a fugitive.
I have had a bookshop at the NLC offices in Abuja for seven years, and all that time, the security forces have shown no interest in me.”

He offered to discuss the matter with Nigerian officials via WhatsApp, Zoom, or in person at the Nigerian High Commission in London.
His Nigerian wife also spoke out, asserting that the allegations against her husband are false and stem from a personal dispute involving a debt owed to Wynne by a Nigerian named Olumide.
She claimed that Olumide is trying to have Wynne expelled from the country to avoid repaying the debt.
The couple has been married for a year, following eight years of friendship.
Earlier on Monday, Nigeria Police Force spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi accused Wynne of creating a network of sleeper cells aimed at destabilizing the Nigerian government.
The police claim that Wynne, also known as Andrew Povich or Drew Povey, orchestrated and funded protests and other activities designed to justify an unconstitutional regime change.
The police have launched a comprehensive investigation into the alleged plot, arresting nine suspects who are accused of receiving substantial foreign funding to incite violence and chaos.
Adejobi noted that Wynne has fled the country along with his local coordinator, Lucky Ehis Obiyan, and that a global search for them is underway.
Despite these serious accusations, Wynne maintains his innocence and is seeking to engage with Nigerian authorities to resolve the matter.
