The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (sometimes also called (MACBAN) has alleged that 11 of its members are missing in Anambra State.
The group also said it lost 33 cattle in the state. Meanwhile, MACBAN and the Association of NonIndigenes in Anambra State (ANIAS) have denied the involvement of their members in the security challenges facing Anambra State.
They said the two suspected kidnappers arrested in Mgbakwu in the Awka North Local Government Area are not their members. They said the suspects are criminal elements contributing to the security issue, calling for a full investigation into the alleged kidnappings in the area.
In a statement, MACBAN Deputy Director-General Gidado Siddiki said: “It is important to note that 11 MACBAN members have been reported missing in the same community where the viral video was recorded.
“Additionally, our members have suffered significant losses, including the killing of approximately 20 cattle owned by Haruna Mohammed and the disappearance of 13 cows belonging to Ibrahim Mohammed, along with the owner himself, in the same area.”
