The Anambra State Government has prohibited all social events, including weddings, burials, shows, and entertainment, from being held on public school premises.
The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, announced the development on Saturday in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Dr Ifeoma Agbaizu.
The statement partly reads, “This is a warning to all principals and head teachers to desist from using school premises as commercial venture.”

The move aims to protect school properties from damage, with the commissioner warning school heads against using school facilities for commercial activities.
She further warned violators of the order, saying ,“Henceforth, any principal or primary school head teacher who indulge in such act will be severely dealt with.”
