Amusan, Ofili Set For Showdown In Tom Jones Invitational

Nigerian sprint sensations, Tobi Amusan and Favour Ofili are gearing up for a showdown in the 100m race at the upcoming Tom Jones Invitational. The event, scheduled for tomorrow, promises an exciting battle between the seasoned hurdling legend, Amusan, and the younger rising star, Ofili.

Amusan, known for her prowess in the 100m hurdles, will be stepping out of her comfort zone to test her speed in the flat race, aiming to gauge her performance ahead of the Xiamen Diamond League event on April 20.

On the other hand, Ofili has been in exceptional form, recently setting the African Record in the 300m and posting the world’s fastest all-conditions 100m time this season at 10.85s. Despite Ofili’s impressive achievements, Amusan has also shown significant improvement, breaking the 60m hurdles African Record twice during the indoor season and anchoring the Nigerian 4x100m relay team to victory at the African Games in Ghana.

The clash between these two athletes is expected to be fierce, with both aiming to outdo each other and potentially set new personal bests. However, they’ll face stiff competition from a lineup of top sprinters, including world championship finalist Tamari Davis and former US champion Melissa Jefferson.
