Alao-Akala will be missed for his magnanimity – Osinbajo

Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday described the late former governor of Oyo state, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Akala- Alao as an open- minded politician, who would be missed for his magnanimity and compassion. Osinbajo in company with the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, his Ekiti State counterpart, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, and former Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, were among the dignitaries that stormed Beulah Baptist Conference Ground, Ogbomoso for the final burial of the late politician.

While speaking at the burial programme, the Vice President said that the late former governor served the interest of his people when he was in power and gave quality counsel to those who were around him. He added that the late politician in his lifetime was a honest personality, who improved the Internally Generated Revenue of the state from three hundred million naira to one billion naira. According to Osinbajo, Alao-Akala was responsible and would always respect the views of individuals.

“He will be missed for his counsel and compassion,” the VP said. In his remarks, Governor Seyi Makinde eulogised the former governor, describing him as one who loved everyone regardless of their political differences. He said the governor would be honoured accordingly and will not be forgotten for his good deeds. Alao-Akala died on January 12, 2022 at the age of 71
