Akume: My Journey With Ortom Highly Historical, Eventful

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (SGF), Senator George Akume has said that his journey with the immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ortom has been highly historical and eventful.

This was contained in a birthday message delivered to mark Chief Ortom at his 63rd birthday anniversary public lecture held in Makurdi the Benue State Capital.

Represented by the Pioneer Director General (DG) of the International Institute for Peace Research and Practice, Dr John Tor Tsua, the SGF wished Chief Ortom good health of body and mind with a renewed zeal to keep contributing to the consolidation of democracy and growth of the state and Nigeria at large.

“My journey with Adorogo has been highly historical and eventful moulding lives and changing events. It is a journey that has spanned decades with leadership and followership burdens.

“We have had good times, turbulent times and times of reconciliation, friendship and collaboration to secure our people and land.

“On this day of your birthday, I wish you good health of body and mind with a renewed zee to keep contributing to the consolidation of our democracy, and growth of our nation and state.

“In the history of Benue State, I have helped a lot of people by the grace of God. Some have been good and others terrible. Because of people like Ortom who have recognized the burden of mentorship and leadership and are ready to embrace positive change, I will not stop helping and elevating people”.

Senator Akume prayed to God to bless and reward Ortom’s good deeds as he looked ahead to better years ahead.
