The wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Patience Umo Eno has reportedly passed away following a brief illness.
The sad news was announced by the State Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a press release issued on Friday morning.
New Telegraph reports that Eno died peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024, in the presence of her family at a hospital, marking a tragic loss for the state and her loved ones.

In a press statement, titled “Unexpected Sunset,” confirmed the news and expressed the deep grief of the first family.
The statement read, “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness.”
It further requested prayers and support for the grieving family, while also asking for privacy during this difficult time.
Despite this personal tragedy, Governor Umo Eno has reassured the people of Akwa Ibom that his commitment to public service remains unwavering.
