Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the incoming President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has once again travelled to Europe ahead of his inauguration.
New Telegraph gathered that the President-elect who travelled on Wednesday, May 10 is set to be on the trip for business gains.
It would be recalled that the former governor of Lagos State returned back to Nigeria barely two weeks after returning from London, Paris, and Saudi Arabia before his recent travelling.
In a statement issued by his Media Assistant, Tunde Rahman said Tinubu would take advantage of the trip to meet with some of his most important aides and fine-tune the transition plans and programs as well as his policy options without undue pressure or distraction.
The President-elect will meet with investors and other important partners during the tour to promote investment prospects in the nation and the preparedness of his administration to create a business-friendly environment through laws and regulations.
The statement read, “Already, meetings with multi-sectoral actors in Europe’s business community including manufacturing, agriculture, tech, and energy have been lined up.
“Asíwájú Tinubu hopes to convince them of Nigeria’s readiness to do business under his leadership through mutually-beneficial partnerships premised on jobs creation and skills acquisition.
“Reviving the country’s economy forms a major plank of Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and the meeting is part of his efforts to re-establish Nigeria’s importance in the global economic chain and create empowering opportunities for the country’s huge youth population.
“The President-elect has hitherto promised to hit the ground running and the visit is reflective of his commitment to the promise as he has already begun talks with global actors in the important areas of the economy and security.
“Before he left the country, Asíwájú Tinubu met with the House of Representatives candidates for Speaker and Deputy Speaker endorsed by his party, the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas and Hon. Benjamin Kalu, who were presented to him by the Joint Task Team of the House.”
The former governor of Lagos State, Tinubu, is anticipated to return “shortly” to begin making final preparations for his inauguration as the nation’s 16th president on May 29, 2023.
