Just like Ahmed Musa rejoined the Nigerian local league two weeks ago, another Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye is on the verge of joining Rivers United if the words of the club’s coach, Finidi George, are anything to go by.
Finidi dropped the hint after a league tie with 3SC of lbadan last weekend. Ideye was seen at Rivers United training ground last week, going through the paces and drills with the players which fuels speculations that he might join the team as soon as possible.
In his post-match interview after Rivers United defeated Shooting Stars by 2-0 on Matchday seven of the 2024/2025 NPFL, Finidi confirmed that there is every likelihood Ideye will return to Rivers United soonest and he is ready to welcome him if he has the same hunger as shown by Musa.
“There’s every likelihood that he would join us. He wants to give back. He has that hunger we see in Musa and if he’s willing to do that, we welcome him” said George.
