The Super Eagles have expressed their frustration after being held to a goalless draw by Rwanda in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers in Kigali. The Nigerian side, who dominated possession and created several scoring chances, were unable to break through the Rwandan defense in a match that ended in stalemate.
Speaking after the game, the Super Eagles’ captain, Willaim TroostEkong, described the result as unfortunate, noting that the team had gone into the match with high hopes of securing all three points.
“Rwanda set up their team well. We created chances and on a different day, it would have been a different result (in Super Eagles favour).” “We threw everything at them, but it just didn’t go in, we were unlucky,” lamented midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, who started for the Super Eagles in Kigali.
“We played well, but we couldn’t finish off the chances we created.
