Adamawa LG Elections To Hold On July 13 – ADSIEC

The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has fixed Saturday, July 13, 2024, as a tentative date for the conduct of Local Government elections in the state.

Disclosing this to newsmen in his office in Yola Tuesday, the Chairman of the Commission, Muhammed Umar maintained that the date is unchangeable.

According to Mohammed Umar, “As you are aware, the tenure of the Local Government Councils has expired and it is the responsibility of the Commission to conduct new elections to fill in the vacancies as promulgated by law”.

” It is therefore imperative and constitutional for the Commission to announce a date for the conduct of the council elections”, the Chairman stated.

Consequently, the Commission at its meeting held on the 27th May 2024 fixed Saturday 13th July 2024 as the tentative date for the conduct of the elections.

Notices of the election into the offices of Chairman and Councillors shall be published at the SIEC Headquarters and Local Government offices, he said.

He, however, said the timetable/schedule of activities and timelines for the conduct of the elections will be back released within the week.
