“This is done in collaboration with the Ogun State governor, Mr. Dapo Abiodun, who has provided the land and the foundation was laid on July 3rd and we are going to build it.
“The work is already going on, it shows the level of seriousness on the project and very soon it’s going to be very visible.”
He was asked why Sickle cell, as a special project, said that, “I’m picking up the Sickle cell Anaemia disease, because I have a medical background.
I’m a medical doctor and I have had over four decades of medical practice and sickle cell disease Anaemia is one that ravages the sufferers, a lot of burden to the people who suffer from sickle cell Anaemia disease, a lot of burden to their careers, to their parents and even to the hospital staff that take care of them.
“And I felt that is an area where Rotary Club can come in, in advocacy, counseling, in treatment and some form of research to the treatment of sickle cell disease Anaemia.”
According to him, “Rotary Club is a Continuum, if I am unable to finish the project at my tenure, the incoming district governors will continue from where I stopped.
We already have an understanding that this is a project that will benefit the public, so whether I finish it or not, other district governors.
