The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas has urged colleagues, constituents, family, and friends to refrain from placing congratulatory adverts in newspapers, on TV, or other paid platforms in celebration of his forthcoming birthday slated for Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
In a statement issued ahead of his Birthday, Abbas expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of well-wishes but urged supporters to channel the resources earmarked for paid congratulatory messages toward assisting those in need.

He emphasized that given the current economic challenges in the country, it would be more prudent to use available resources to help the less fortunate.
Abbas reiterated his appreciation for everyone’s kind thoughts and prayers, stating that their support is deeply valued, and encouraged all to prioritize charity over celebration.
