The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has lamented the flood that affected parts of Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, describing it as unfortunate.
The flood occurred around Kogin Mata and Tudun Muntsira, Chikaji area of Sabon Gari on Monday after a torrential rainfall. It destroyed property and rendered many residents homeless.
Abbas, while empathising with the victims of the flood, lamented that such an unfortunate incident happened at a time when people are making efforts to make ends meet. He called for urgent measures to provide succour to the victims, urging them to stay calm while the government makes efforts to address their plight.
Specifically, the speaker called on the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) to come to the aid of the victims at this critical time.
