Abandoned Match: NPFL’s Hammer Falls On Enyimba, As Rangers Get Three Points, Three Goals

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has come hard on Enyimba for the unruly behaviour of their players which led to the premature end of their match against Rangers in Enugu on Sunday. The league slammed a fine of N10 million on the People’s Elephant for the embarrassing action at the Cathedral The NPFL also awarded three points and three goals to Rangers for the abandoned oriental derby.

Enyimba walked out of the game in stoppage time on account of a penalty awarded to the hosts. The Aba giants fans also invaded the pitch afterwards. The league body has also fined Rangers N5million for various offences, including non-provision of adequate security, encroachment on the pitch by fans and other unauthorized persons, as well as sales of tickets to spectators exceeding the stadium capacity.
