66 Countries For 7th KILAF

Sixty-six countries are expected to participate in the Jurors of the 7th Kano Indigenous Languages of Africa Film Market and Festival (KILAF) scheduled to be held on November 30.

The event, which will be held under the chairmanship of Prof. Emmanuel Emasealu, has released the list of nominated films for the KILAF ’24 Awards. KILAF Founder and Chief Executive Officer Abdulkareem Mohammed said at a news conference in Kano on Tuesday:

“This year’s event promises to be enriching, engaging and fulfilling. “It has attracted 510 global film entries for its competition from 66 countries; out of which 35 African nations accounted for 430 film entries.

57 films from 16 countries have made it to the nomination list. They are all eligible to win any of the 17 categories of the KILAF ’24 Film Competition.” According to him, the fiveday gathering will feature activities promoting interactive engagements.
