Trinidadian-born rapper, singer, and songwriter, Nicki Minaj has slammed Jay-Z for choosing Kendrick Lamar as the headliner of the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show instead of her former record label boss, Lil Wayne.
New Telegraph reports that the National Football League, Apple Music and Jay-Z’s Roc Nation recently announced Lamar as the headliner of the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Following the announcement, some fans have been criticising Jay-Z, who was in charge of the selection, for picking Lamar instead of Wayne.

Reacting to the uproar, Nicki Minaj took to her X page in a series of post on Monday, to call out Jay-Z over Lil Wayne’s snub.
She wrote: “Denying a young black man what he rightfully put into this game for no other reason but your ego. Your hatred for Birdman, Drake & Nicki got you punishing Lil Wayne?! Lil Wayne! The GOAT! Nola, what’s good?!
“Eminem stood firm on having 50Cent come out. A white man. Sh*t sad. House n*gger timz. but it’s good fi dem! No loyalty? Welp. then n*ggaz will keep son’ing you!”
Minaj added that Lil Wayne has impacted the hip-hop world with his talent and grace.
She noted that Wayne brought some hip-hop greats like herself and Drake into the spotlight.
