
The Sokoto State government has won a Saudi Award of Excellence for conducting a successful Hajj this year.
The state government also clinched the prestigious and most coveted award sequel to the proper arrangements put in place to ensure the welfare of the State’s pilgrims during the Hajj.
The Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency (PWA) Chairman Aliyu Musa presented the award to Governor Ahmed Aliyu at the Government House on Monday. Aliyu commended the PWA for its commitment to the successes recorded during Hajj.
He said: “I want to thank you for the unshakeable commitment and glaring hard work you have displayed in diligently organising the last Hajj.
“The arrangements you have made in ensuring the welfare of our pilgrims were indeed superb, extremely worthy of commendation.”
