2023: 102-year-old woman wants to succeed Buhari

The 102-year-old founder of the Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria, Mrs Nonye Josephine Ezeanyaeche, has expressed her interest in contesting the 2023 presidency. Ezeanyaeche is also called Living Legend. She stated this during a visit to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), saying she was ready to contest the position if the younger Nigerians are not ready. The centenarian popularly called Mama Africa said she has good plans for Nigeria and should be allowed to succeed Buhari. President of the Voice for Senior Citizens of Nigeria, Caro Nwosu, quoted Ezeanyaeche as saying, “If Nigerians are shying away from political participation, she says she is ready to contest. She has already prepared a manifesto for herself. She has the vision. If the good ones don’t come out to contest.” Although she hasn’t disclosed her preferred party to pursue her ambition, Ezeanyaeche however joins the long list of those eyeing the exalted position.
