18,000 Youths For Anambra Security Summit

Eighteen thousand youths in Anambra State are to participate in this year’s Anambra Youth Security Summit in Awka.

The Patron of the Anambra Youth Progressive Forum (AYPF) Frank Ekwozor said: “We are expecting about eighteen thousand youths and already we have over 18, 000 youths as members who would be coming with one youth each for the function” Ekwozor, a victim of kidnap, lamented the level of crime in the state, crime among the youths has become alarming hence the need for the summit.

“They kidnapped me here in my town and they were small, small boys not up to 25 years and they took me away but stopped on the road and asked me to go, ” he said The AYPF President Chika Nwosu said part of the program is to agitate for the establishment of an artisan and a mechanic village for the youths.

He said: “We shall have in attendance Governor Charles Soludo; the Obi of Onitsha Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe; the Commissioner of Police, DSS Director, Civil Defence, Immigration and Customs.”
