The Lagos Territorial Office of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has announced the arrival of 149 returnees from Niger Republic.
According to the agency, their return was facilitated by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) on Tuesday via a SkyMali charter flight at Murtala Muhammad International Airport.
New Telegraph reports that the returnees includes 87 adult males, 25 adult females, 22 children, and 15 infants.
However, two of the returnees sustained leg injuries and was provided medical attention by Port Health and IOM teams.

Speaking on their safe return, the NEMA said, “In line with the reception process, biometric registration was conducted by the Nigeria Immigration Service to ensure the returnees were well documented.”
In a similar vein, NEMA’s Kano Territorial Office reported repatriating 975 Nigerians from Niger in 2023 and continues to advise against irregular migration.
