Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has said that paying 10% as tithe is for beginners.
Pastor Adeboye made this remark on Thursday in a bid to encourage believers to go beyond the basic requirement.
Speaking to the youth at the ongoing RCCG Youth Convention in Ogun State, Adeboye shared that he has moved far beyond 10% in his giving.

He stated it’s wrong to limit offerings to just that amount.
Also, Adeboye apologized for a previous statement implying that Christians who don’t pay tithe might not make it to heaven.
The pastor clarified that peaceful and holy living are the true biblical prerequisites for salvation.
He emphasized that those seeking financial control and greater success should give far more than 10%.
“10% is for beginners. It’s wrong for me to say you should be paying only 10%.
I’ve been steadily increasing my own giving,” Adeboye said, sharing the story of a businessman who pledged 90% of his earnings as tithe, which led to a significant increase in his wealth.
Adeboye’s message encouraged believers to expand their giving as a way to invite more blessings into their lives.
